Two UNESCO World Heritages in Northwest of Chengdu
Those two attractions are popular day trip in Chengdu.
Located about 60 km away northwest of Chengdu, Qingcheng Mountain, the birthplace of Taoism, has a history over 1800 years. Because of its lush forest and many Taoist Temples, it is a good place for hiking, climbing and experience the religious atmosphere.
Dujiangyan Irrigation System was constructed around 256 BC. It has been playing an important role to control the flood and irrigate the farmland since then. Besides the dam, you can also see a traditional garden with nice bonsais and hike the trail on the hill for a bird's eye view of this project.
Itinerary
8: 00 Meet you up in your hotel lobby
9:40 Visit Qingcheng Mountain by hiking and cable car. Please be ware that you have to hike and climb up for at least 40 minutes although we will take shuttle and cable car in some parts.
12:00 leave for Dujiangyan Irrigation System
12:40-13:30 lunch time
13:40-15:40 visit the garden, the Dam site and hike to the overlook for a birds eye view of the project
15:40 head back for Chengdu and drop you off at your hotel by 17:30.
