Enjoy a country cycle with unique views of Windsor Castle from this Royal estate
Outside Windsor Town is a unique place where I enjoy one of my favourite rides out of London. We bring the bikes to you for this wonderful cycle of Windsor Great Park, where Queen Elizabeth enjoyed horse riding when at Windsor Castle.
This 13th Century Royal Park is 20km2 and for many centuries was the private hunting ground of Windsor Castle. This is a safe country cycle ride protected from outside busy traffic where I can show you my favourite spots in this unique location.
See Windsor Castle in the distance ( we can walk to the famous Long Walk in 20 minutes if you wish -cycling is prohibited now)
Enjoy cycling past the Royal Polo fields, village cricket field, school, and houses + the Queen's statue.
Stop at the Fox and Hounds country pub at Englefield Green, here we can enjoy a drink or lunch before our return to Rangers Gate Car park.
Added cycle into Windsor and see Eton Colleges (please ask for cost and details -outside the park road cycling experience is required. )
Itinerary
Meet at Rangers Gate Car Park,
Sheet Street Road,
Windsor,
SL4 2LD
We'll set you up with your bikes and explain our route.
Enter Windsor Great Park, to start your cycle and enjoy wonderful country views, including a couple of hills!
Pass Polo fields, see a statue of Queen Elizabeth on horseback, the village school, and through beautiful nature.
(1-1. 5 hours depending on ability/stops)
Stop at Fox and Hounds pub where we can enjoy refreshments if you wish. (30-45 minutes)
Continue our cycle where we can see a Windsor Castle view from a distance and take a walk through the Deer Park to the famous Long Walk views of Windsor Castle and see deer if you are lucky. (We are now not allowed to cycle so the return walk is 20 minutes)
Cycle through the village, seeing the post office, estate workers' houses, cricket club, school, farm, and vineyard. (30 minutes-1hour depending on stops and ability)
Finish back at Rangers Gate Car Park where you can meet your taxi.
