Discover the beauty of the Alentejo in a city filled with history!
Come with me on this full-day private tour of Évora and its UNESCO World Heritage site and embark on a travel between time and tradition while exploring the richness of Alentejo's capital with more than 20 centuries of history, going back to Celtic times.
Let me introduce you to Évora's Roman and Medieval heritage and how it blends into modern life becoming one of the epicenters for wine and olive oil production in the country and a city that welcomes visitors with it's authenticity and peaceful life.
Enjoy the local gastronomy, a complete history by itself, that I will tell you all about, and visit the medieval castle and village of Monsaraz, beautifully preserved within its walls with magnificent views to one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe, the Alqueva. Let's visit one of the famous and my absolute favorite, wineries of the region where some of the best Portuguese wines are made.
Itinerary
After the pickup we will head directly to Évora, about 1h30m drive. Once we get there we will leave the car and walk through the small city centre to the main attractions, Roman Temple, Cathedral, Bones Chapel, Giraldo's Square, etc.
Depending on your preferences lunch can be in Evora or Monsaraz, a beautifully preserved medieval village at just half an hour from Évora and a personal favorite.
After Monsaraz we will visit one of the typical wine estates of the region, where we can visit and taste (optionally) some of the exquisite wines produced in the region. Alternatively we can visit the home of one of Portugal's most exquisite Gin's, for a little surprising twist on the region's traditional products.
Please note that the order of the visits may be altered due to Lunch options and/or more favorable visiting hours for the attractions/monuments.
All the Itineraries described are standard for this tour. As this is a private tour, the tour is fully customizable according to your preferences

All cars are equipped with wi-fi, cooler, leather seats, multizone air conditioning and privacy windows. Altough the maximum capacity of the van is 7, we set the maximum number to 5 so that the middle seats are not taken and there's a little more room. Read More Reviews For This TourFrancisco was a great guide. Although he had some great plans for our trip, he was also able to accommodate some changes based on our suggestions. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and history of Portugal. He recommended a great restaurant for lunch which we really enjoyed . We would recommend Francisco for any of your guide plans
