Discover the center west of Portugal! Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré and Óbidos.

Come with me on this private tour of central Portugal and discover a key area in the development of the country. First, we will visit one of the most emblematic places for the Christian religion, Fátima, and its spectacular sanctuary and the praying field where more than 250, 000 people pray at the famous processions during the main historical dates--May 13 and October 13.

Also, visit Batalha Monastery, one of my favorites and one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Portugal where one of the most important battles of medieval Portuguese history took place.

One other point of interest is Nazaré, a fishing village where I spent whole summers in my youth which recently became home to the tallest waves in the world and some of the most delicious seafood.

Óbidos, a beautifully preserved medieval village and castle is also a must-see when you visit this area of the country where you will taste the famous Ginginha in a chocolate cup, and have time to stroll through the village and buy some souvenirs.

Itinerary

After the pickup we will drive to Fátima, an approximate 1h15 drive.
In Fátima we will visit all the points of the sanctuary, get to know all of its history and have time to buy some religious souvenirs, if you wish to.
After Fatima, and an approximate 20 minute drive we will visit the exquisite Batalha Church and optionally we can make the visit more complete with the whole Monastery. Depending on time we can lunch in Batalha or Nazaré, I will keep you informed of all the options.
Another 30 minute drive takes us to Nazaré where besides driving around the village we will take some time to visit the big wave spots.
After another short drive we will arrive to Óbidos where I will accompany you on a visit through the village, you will be able to taste the famous ginginha and get some souvenirs if you wish.
In the end, a 45 min drive takes us back to Lisbon.

All the Itineraries and schedules described are the standard for this tour but the tour is fully customizable according to your preferences.
