See the beauty of Lake Baikal during this full-day tour
One of my Favorite village - Listvyanka is a situated at approximately 1 hour drive from Irkutsk city, situated right on the shore of lake Baikal. This is a one-day excursion for those who don't have much time for sightseeing on Baikal.
On the way I will tell you about Baikal, the related ancient local legends, visit the museum of wooden architecture located on the way to Listvyanka.
In Listvyanka we will have a unique opportunity to try local delicacy - the Baikal omul, to admire a view of a source of Angara (the only river flowing out from Baikal) from height, to visit the local Baikal museum, which has no equal around the world by quantity of evident illustrations of unique flora and fauna of "the Pearl of Siberia".
And, of course, we will devote some time to greeting of the sacred lake according to all local traditions and customs.
Itinerary
- departure from hotel
- the Architectural and ethnographic museum of Taltsy on the way to Listvyanka with its unique complex of wooden houses, the age of some of them is more than 300 years;
- transfer from Taltsy to Listvyanka
- the viewpoint and Cherskiy cliff at the height of 728 m above sea level; visiting the platform opposite Shaman stone, sacred for local population;
- Optional lunch at local cafe
- Baikal museum with the unique scientific exposition devoted to Lake Baikal and also with aquariums, where it is possible to see all representatives of the underwater world of Baikal;
- visiting souvenir and fish market; greeting of Baikal, visiting ancient Saint Nicholas church of the beginning of the 19th century known for the unusual history of construction.
- way back to Irkutsk.
