Asia's Only Protestant-Dominant Nation, and 1000 Catholic Saints: History, Churches and Heroes, virtually from my home-office

Despite hundreds of years of missionaries backed by colonialism, Christianity has not been very successful all across Asia. . . But Korea is quite the exception! A strong Catholicism *self-started* in the 1700s, but was brutally crushed, leaving a thousand martyr-saints . America and British missionaries introduced their Protestant denominations in the 1880s, and a unique blaze erupted converting much of the nation, especially in Pyongyang. They both held strong through against Japanese imperialism and the horrors of the Korean War, and then the four decades of dictatorships, to emerge in the light of democratic freedom as Asia's strongest, best-financed, and most influential national Christianity. Today Korea hosts the most vibrant Protestant organizations led by charismatic preachers in all of Asia, some bigger than America's "mega-churches", and with global reach. And it's also the origin and home of many strange fanatical cults, including the largest and richest one that the world has ever seen!
