Oslo was originally founded more than a thousand years ago and has been the capital of Norway for more than seven hundred years. The Norwegians are a proud people and have an amazing heritage; from the Vikings, to their ties to Denmark and Sweden - with a touch of French influence - and as a major player on the international stage. Even though Oslo is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, its center is quite compact and you can discover many things in a few hours: the former shipyard of this oil nation, now one of the most modern districts in the city, the Royal Palace whose location is thanks to a Marshal of France.
