The Philippines is an archipelago, or string of over 7,100 islands, in southeastern Asia between the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It is bounded in the west by the South China Sea; in the east by the Pacific Ocean; in the south by the Sulu and Celebes Seas; and in the north by the Bashi Channel.
The Philippines is safe for families to travel to. It's definitely a unique and beautiful place to take your family. However, it is best to exercise safety measures, as you would in any unfamiliar destination.
Filipino, the standardized form of Tagalog, is the national language and is used in formal education throughout the country. Filipino and English are both official languages and English is commonly used by the government.
