Explore the Fascinating History and Culture of the Town of Kamakura With a Private Guide
Kamakura is a seaside town located 50km southwest of Tokyo and a very popular destination for visitors to Tokyo. It takes just about one hour to get there from central Tokyo by train and is the perfect place for a day excursion to experience a contrasting change from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
While on the tour, I will tell you about the history of the town, where the Samurai based their government and it flourished as the Shogun's capital from the late 12th century to the mid 14th century.
There are many famous Zen Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines and the remains of many historical sites. The highlight is visiting Hasedera, my favorite place to take the guest, with beautiful seasonal flowers, great view and of course great temple. This is a wonderful way to experience the environs outside of Tokyo with a fascinating bit of local history and culture. We will enjoy not only tradition but also beautiful nature.
