The Korean Language is the language spoken by more than 48 million people in South Korea.
South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK), is a country in eastern Asia that occupies the southern part of the Korean peninsula, which is located between the Sea of Japan (East Sea) in the east, the Yellow Sea in the west, and the Korea Strait, a sea passage between South Korea and Japan in the south.
If you opt to see the vibrant pink of the cherry blossoms, azaleas, and lotuses in bloom, the best time to visit South Korea is between April and June. Temperatures during these times are generally pleasant and very suitable for outdoor activities. It's spring season in South Korea during these months with average daily temperatures of a pleasant 15 - 20°C.
September through November is a good time to taste hangwa and fresh persimmons. Winter is long and cold, but worth visiting for its quiet atmosphere, Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival, and skiing. During their autumn season, rainfall is low and accommodation rates are very much affordable.
If visitors prefer to visit South Korea during their winter season, it's best to visit from December through March. From summer highs of 30°C, the temperatures in winter can plummet to as low as -20°C. Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy skiing and snowboarding at the ski resorts in the Gyeonggi-do Province and in Gangwon-do which sees a higher than average annual snowfall.
South Korea is a very safe country to visit. Its crime rates are much lower compared to the US and most European countries, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. For tourists and anyone else, it is perfectly safe to walk around at night, even in the larger cities. Violent crime is also rare.
