Soak in the serenity and beauty of traditional Japanese gardens and the splendor of the capital's palaces
One of the best features of Tokyo are its beautiful parks and gardens. In this tour we will visit three of the city's most famous parks - the Imperial Palace's East gardens, the Shinjuku Gyoen, as well as the Akasaka Palace - the former residence of the Crown prince and the only baroque style palace in Japan.
One of my favorite things about this tour is the serenity and beauty of the gardens that invariable rubs off on the visitor.
With a focus on shape and harmony between their elements rather than on color, Japanese gardens are designed to be enjoyed through out the year. Spring and Fall however are a particularly good time to visit - in the spring we can enjoy the blooming cherry trees and in the Fall the vivid red and gold of the maple and Ginko tree foliage. So, if you are visiting Tokyo at that time of the year this tour is a must.
Learn about the history of Tokyo while being surrounded by exquisite beauty.
The tour is NOT available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when the parks are closed

A Recent Review of this tour
Read More Reviews For This TourWe spent two days with Makayla (this tour and Yokahama), and thoroughly enjoyed our time, in spite of the rain both days. Makayla brings wonderful spirit, energy and perspective to her tours. We appreciated her flexibility to adapt the tour to the rain and accommodate our specific interests (such as pottery shopping) and occasional needs (such as coffee/food!).
