Walking tour in downtown, TOKYO, such as Nezu, Yanaka, Ueno and Okachimachi.
Tokyo is a big city with 14million people. Most of people who live in Tokyo are from other places in Japan. You will visit old Tokyo, or downtown of Tokyo, such as Nezu, Yanaka, Ueno and Okachimachi area. I am sure you will find different Tokyo in the area. You come across nostalgy and quiet "shitamchi" which means downtown where Toktoite or "Edokko" live. Let's explore!
Itinerary
• 9:30 ~ Meet up
• Nezu shrine:
one of oldest shrines in Tokyo and you see "thousand vermillion torii gate".
• Yanaka shopping street:
nostalgic atmosphere. You can find food deli and stands. Famous fine view stairs "Yuyake-dandan".
• Yanaka cemetery:
you can see the grave of last Tokugawa family "shogun" or top of samurai, "Yoshinobu". During late of March~early stage of April, you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing here.
Lunch in somewhere
• Ueno Park:
The history of the park related to Tokugawa samurai family who ruled Japan for over260years. Place of many museums and famous Ueno Zoo where you can see Panda Bear! if you want. Huge park and popular place of beautiful cherry blossom viewing from end of March till middle of April.
• Okachimachi:
where is a chaotic atmosphere. bustle place. Over 300 restaurants, including many Japanese restaurants, sushi, yakitori(chicken BBQ) and Japanese style tavern called "Izakaya" are found.
• 16:00~16:30 Breakup in Okachimachi or Ueno railway station.
